My father and grandfather were both named Younger Smith Sr. and Jr. I have found many Younger Smiths in other Censuses in particular in Ohio and Illinois as early as the mid 1800's,Im wondering is there some significance to this odd first name other than what Ive been told as to how my father and grandfather got their name?Is there anyone other than myself researching a Younger Smith or have someone in their Smith family with that name?if so,Please let me know!

Thanks in Advance

I am researching the genealogy of William Smith DOB-1797 Lambeth Surrey England. His father was also William Smith. I have a copy of William Sr.'s will from the Court of Canterbury. He was apparently wealth (based on the will), but no one has any idea who his parents were, or how to track the family. William Jr. emigrated to Canada in 1813, and had in total 22 children. All born in what is now province of Manitoba. Most common names in English and in Manitoba Smiths were William, John, Benjamin, Thomas and James.

Where do I start to look? How do I choose an active researcher? And I do have a gedcom on the wiki tree but don't know how to incorporate that into a wiki tree.

I have a Smith family tree but hit a Smith brick wall at my grandfather, Melvin Washington Smith, born in Texas on July 24, 1878. My Father said he had 2 brothers and possibly a sister. His registration for the WWI draft sain he was born in Palpinto, Texas. I can find him on most Federal Census after he was married with children but nothing prior.

I wonder if I might ask for some advice. I am trying to find details of a Robert Smith, born in New York around 1867. Robert who moved to Croydon in Surrey in England by 1871 was recorded on the 1871 census as the Nephew of Marmaduke Smith. Marmaduke was born in Hull, Yorkshire England around 1839, but apart from the above there is very little to go on.

I am looking for the connection between Marmaduke and Robert. Who, for example, were Marmaduke's parents and who were his siblings -Robert's parents- and when did they migrate to the USA. I cannot find any Robert on the passenger lists arriving in the UK around the time he should have been traveling,

your help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, During my cemetery project in the Kissimmee Florida area I photographed a Smith family of five. I wasn't sure if they were related to any current Wiki Smith's. Their names are R. Claude Smith SR born 1899 died 1961& Claude R. Smith born 1930-1994, Wayne "Buddy" Smith born 1932-1986, Evelyn Whittington Smith born 1908-2000, Betty Lou Smith born 1932-1972.
